In the 1970s the West Indies were so dominant they could have replaced their bats with small twigs and still beaten most sides. Unsurprisingly they won the inaugural Cricket World Cup in 1975, without losing a match. England got annihilated in the semi-finals by Australia. Some things don’t change.
